Access your data (please see Hints below)                      

To get data into SAS:

In your external file (Excel, Quattro,Wordperfect, Word, text files, etc),
     highlight your data (cells to be copied, which do not include the row of variable names)
     and copy data (Ctrl-C) (Reminders for using your own data)

 Place cursor in Editor Window in SAS and paste data (Ctrl-V)

H I N T S :

Data needs to have one column per variable, one variable name per column.

Missing data should be marked with a period (place a period in speadsheet cells associated with missing data).

Do not copy the row of variable names into SAS because these are not data values. The next step, Step 4, explains      how to identify variable names in SAS (the INPUT statement).

SAVE YOUR PROGRAM occasionally. With cursor in Editor Window, hit Ctrl-S.

Instead of copying and pasting data into SAS, SAS can read external data files. See Using SAS for more info.

The advantage of copying-and-pasting data directly into the SAS program is that you have it right there in front       of you (you can see it in the Editor Window).
