In a CRD Nested, all treatment combinations are randomly assigned to the experimental units.
Each cell in the diagrams below is an experimental unit.
There are two treatment factors, A with 2 levels, and B with 5 levels, and the treatment combinations will be represented as A1B3. With Nested treatment designs, each level of factor A is only combined with a subset of the B levels, generally with no overlap. In these examples, we will assume that A1 is only combined with B1 and B2, while A2 is only combined with B3, B4 and B5
CRD Nested None This example shows 4 replicates of the 5 treatment combinations. There is one measurement per experimental unit on each response variable.
